Car accidents can be rough.
Even if you are not seriously injured, they add unnecessary hassle to your life with insurance claims, court dates, and car repair costs.
However, one of the most pressing questions on people’s minds after an accident is “What should I do to ensure that I am ok?”
We have all heard horror stories of individuals who were in accidents, thought that they were just fine, and then found out years down the line that they had done permanent damage to their body because they wouldn’t go see a specialist.
However, coming in to see a specialist can sometimes be a financial struggle and you likely want to make sure that you are genuinely in need of care before you make the investment.
So how do you decide whether or not to seek chiropractic care after a car accident?
I will show you.
1. What was the severity of the accident?
If you are not in immediate pain, the first question you should ask is “How severe was the accident?”
Were you amazed that you made it out of the car alive or was it just a minor bump?
While there are no guarantees that you will be injury free from a minor accident, the severity of the collission is typically a good indication of you need for a chiropractic adjustment.
2. Are you in pain?
Regardless of the severity of the accident, if you are in pain, then you need to immediately seek out a specialist.
It is important to note the difference between genuine pain and simply post-accident soreness.
The latter is to be expected and will go away after a few days.
The former should be a red flag that you need to seek professional help and possibly get adjusted.
